The staff comes off as very unprofessional and I had to wait 20+ minutes to see the therapist I booked an appointment with. If you are a young woman with complex/sexual trauma, I do not recommend anna mavrakakis. Her vibe was nice on the surface but very rushy and unwelcoming. She asked what brought me in and her body language IMMEDIATELY closed up after I described events that I had experienced. Also she seemed uncomfortable when I brought up that I was a sex worker? Which is fine if that’s not something she’s equipped to handle, but I would rather she say it straight up instead of acting awkward and cutting me off mid sentence to say “so there’s a lot going on” like yea, that’s why I’m here. I understand if you can’t help me if I’m seeing someone currently elsewhere, but you can at least explain your approach so I have an idea of how well of a fit it is? And if you’re unable to regulate yourself as a therapist while someone is telling you about their trauma, you probably shouldn’t be a therapist. She practically rushed me out the door. She started biting her nails at the end of the session like she was nervous or anxious. To me, thats signaling that you’re not a safe person to talk to. Again, I would not recommend her specifically for any young woman who has experienced complex/sexual trauma.
