I used to see Dr. Hilfer over a few years. I quote from Dr. Hilfer when speaking to me in my sessions: “Your reasonably smart, socially your not so smart” while shaking his head. On expressing a wish to possibly pursue acting: “You don’t emote”. When expressing an issue where I had to stand up for myself he said "You're not a tough guy". Very adversarial and conceited who will point out more than once that he has celebrity clients. He has indicated more than once that he was upset at his publicist and felt frustrated at the fact he wasn't a celebrity shrink. I felt worse after my sessions than before. His assessments are baseless and personal, rather than objective and professional.
