I have been a patient of Dr. Alcarez for over 20 years. Each visit with her is an opportunity to learn how to be healthier and more informed on best medical practices for lifelong choices. She and her staff are effortlessly capable and friendly and willing to follow up on insurance issues, doctor referrals, test results, and medication requests. It is wonderful to have such a caring and thoughtful physician in a world where doctors spend less time with you and barely know your name. She remembers you. She understands your goals and works with you like they are hers too. It is incredible to have such a brilliant doctor.

Dr. Alcarez was my physician for many years, I was always satisfied with her skills and she is a lovely person . The office however is extremely unpleasant, they treat you like a number, getting info requires petitions, they don't know how to deal effectively with insurance companies, and when they screwed up to the tune of $ 1,500 per month for an osteoporosis drug I finally left. Sad to leave Dr Alcarez, good riddance to that office - which, btw, made a failed attempt to turn into a concierge medical service, that was the final straw!

Dr. Alcarez is hands down the best PCP I’ve been too. She not only gives each patient more than the time they deserve but she also goes out of her way to get specific information for her patients. On multiple occasions she’s looped me into conversations with her colleagues about specific health questions I have. Incredible bedside manner. Lovely human being.

I made an appointment here for an annual physical. I waited 45 minutes to see the doctor since she was running behind. I don't mind waiting so it wasn't a big deal. When I finally got examined by Dr. Alcarez, she was nice and seemed like a capable doctor. They took blood and urine tests but I never got the results. I called the office multiple times to get the lab results and no one has ever called me back. Also, they sent the lab samples to a lab that wasn't covered by my insurance even though I specifically asked them if the labs were covered by my insurance and the receptionist said yes. I had to write an appeal to my insurance for them to cover the charges. I liked the doctor but her office is a mess. I will not come back.

Dr Alcarez is totally unethical. She lied and claimed she doesn’t accept my insurance which has a lower reimbursement rate than most. When I checked with the insurer they said she absolutely does accept their insurance. I then called them back and her story changed. She’s not accepting “new patients” as of 4 months ago. When I told her she was assigned as my primary care physician 7 months ago, she then said if I hadn’t seen her, it didn’t count. I relayed all of this to my insurer who is filing a claim against her and urged me to file a breach of medical ethics claim with the state which I will do.
