Doc H.
Dr Gazzara is great, very informative, good sense of humor, and you can tell he enjoys his work. He IS an excellent Dr. His office staff? They need to do their jobs better, and to improve their people skills when dealing with patients on the phone. They can, and have, gotten nasty, and sarcastic, on the phone on a few occasions. They're having a bad day? TOO BAD! Stay home then. EVERYONE has problems they're dealing with on a daily basis. "Having a busy day" doesn't green-light you to get aggressive with patients.

Dr. GAZZARA is amazing always answers all my questions. Has a great bedside manner. Always available to answer questions through portal as well. His staff is amazing too always accommodating.

One of the best Doctors in Staten Island; however, the office staff is terribly unprofessional and rude with everyone. We've been with Dr. Gazzara for over 30 year and repeatedly have been treated with disrespsect in terms of handling our insurance and intake process each time we go there for an appointment. I think Dr. Gazzara should fire his entire admin staff and finally hire much better medical professional admin personnel.

As someone trying to find a new PCP I looked up this office off of my health insurance’s website as they were listed as accepting my insurance. When I called the first woman who answered asked my insurance and without checking told me they do not accept it and hung up abruptly. I called back to explain that they are listed as a participating provider and this time another person picked up and very rudely rushed me off the phone and also hung up abruptly. I’m not one to write a bad review but I’m seeking medical attention and that interaction was very uncalled for. If you don’t have patience for people you definitely shouldn’t be working in healthcare.

I have been a patient with this practice for over ten years. I have never seen a practice where there is no physician turnover, but these three doctors have stayed together for many years. They have secure, automated health and medical systems that don't get in the way of personal care. The result for me has been excellent continuity of care, great follow-up, and professional service. It is understandable that office staff sometimes needs to get up to speed with new procedures but there is always someone available to speak with who will get things done. I would recommend Dr. Gazzara for anyone looking for a knowledgeable internist but especially for those who have complex or chronic medical conditions. Sometimes there is a wait to see him but he has lots of office hours and is responsive even when you leave a message.
