I had him as a pediatrician many decades ago. If youre looking for a GOOD doctor, he isn't it. Since I was a few years old, i had flashes of being inappropriately touched by him but was so young, could never make sense of it... many years later, my father confirmed my flashbacks and he had a difficult time doing that alone. I have never asked my father to go further than what I remember in explanation because it was hard enough for him to even say what he did, and because I really didn't want him to go more into detail for something that happened decades ago. I remember how I felt when I was very little, something didn't feel right the way he touched me and where, and I was right. Maybe I was one patient, maybe there's more, but this is an 100% honest review and honest account of my experience with Dr. Benkel as a kid. I would stay away from him.

I’ve brought my son here for some time now since he was around 1, I saw that Dr.Benkel had good ratings so I decided to bring my son here and it was also close to me. His staff was always kind and helpful when I needed to make appointments or needed paper work done. However, from a start I noticed the doctor didn’t really have a way of talking to little kids to make them feel comfortable and smile, which is ok because not everyone is good at making kids excited about going to the doctor. He was always so serious but his appointments were short and quick so I kept coming back. I get some kids are too much and sometimes we have to hold them to get blood work or shots. In this last occasion of my sons check up, as a parent I was very upset of his ways of handling things. After leaving my sons appointment I noticed my son hand a mark on his hand. Dr.Benkel held my son’s arm and hand so tight and that he left a mark on his hand and around the shoulder on the back. So I would not recommend this doctor at all, my son is only just 4 years old and to have someone hold him so tight that it leaves a mark on his hand, is NOT OK! I will not be coming back here anymore.

Dr. Benkel is the best pediatrician around! My daughter Shari just turned 40 years old and we used Dr. Benkel when she was a little girl and I can’t believe he’s still in practice! He’s extremely devoted to his little ones and you can’t go wrong with this pediatrician!! We Love Dr. Benkel!! 😄❤️

Dr.Benkel is our grandson pediatrician since he visited him first time in the hospital after birth. He is very kind, very patient and very professional. We also love all the wonderful ladies who works with him in the office. I would recommend Dr. Benkel to everyone, who needs great pediatrician!

Wonderful pediatrician. Explains everything he's doing like vacations, check ups and your children's milestones. He very good with my daughter and had been very helpful with every visit, check up, and sick appointments. And his staff is amazing too. Highly recommend Dr.Benkel for any parent is need of a great pediatrician.
