Dr. Steven Bornfeld has been my dentist for more than two decades now! His professional thoughtful counsel has been invaluable, and I consider him my go-to health professional in matters more than dental. He communicates both excellence and trustworthy counsel. So I'm very grateful, and take his counsel.

I live in Manhattan, but have been making the trip to Brooklyn to Dr. Steven Bornfelds (AKA dental twin) office for 7+ years now. I've had a range of dental issues over the years, and have found him to always be expertly knowledgeable, taking the time to patiently explain any issue.... His demeanor is kind, humorous and dare I say even makes the dreaded dental visit enjoyable. You can't place enough value on a trustworthy doctor, and he's definitely one of the good ones.

Dr. Steven Bornfeld has been my dentist for the last 8 years or so. I was having some terrible problems with my teeth when I started seeing him. In addition to needing a few routine fillings and crowns, I was also having severe pain on a tooth that had already had a root canal. My then dentist wanted to do a second root canal, just in case it would fix the problem (he admitted there was no more than a 70% chance that it would). Dr. Bornfeld told me that he would never propose doing a second root canal without getting an expert opinion. He sent me to a specialist who successfully performed an oral surgery procedure, not a root canal, to fix the problem. Dr. Bornfeld performed the other dental work I needed with great skill and gentleness (and at much lower prices than my other dentist). This experience showed me that Dr. Bornfeld was not only highly competent, he was also a man of integrity. When I transferred my very anxious daughter from her pediatric dentist to Dr. Bornfeld she remarked that Dr. Bornfeld was much more gentle than the pediatric dentist.

I've been a patient of Dr. Bornfelds for a number of years, which for me has been mostly fillings, cleanings, checkups, etc. He is very communicative, letting you know exactly what's happening at all times and why. I feel he's a trustworthy neighborhood dentist who has his patients best interests at heart. Highly recommended.

I had the misfortune of experiencing Mark Bornfeld at NYU School of Dentistry. He has a very lofty opinion of himself and he put down dental students by berating them in front of me, when it was not necessary. He acted like I did not exist as a person who should speak or be spoken to. When I first said hello after being introduced to him, he shot me down with a withering look and completely ignored the introduction and my saying hello. He was horribly rude and I would never wish to experience his odious personality ever again.Simply put, he lacks manners.
