Dr Buono is pleasant but every time I go there it’s consistently a 1hr+ wait past my appointment time. The receptionist just says “yeah it’ll be a few more minutes you’re next” and then it’s another 45 minutes and two other people go ahead of you until you’re seen. Very strange.

I want to state that Dr Buono is an excellent physician but I will not be returning as a patient. His male receptionist in Staten Island is extremely rude and unprofessional. Called the office 3 times hoping to see the doctor so I walked over hoping to see him. I was told the doctor was leaving early and couldn’t not see me and would provide an antibiotic. The male receptionist said he was having issues with the phone and could not retrieve messages and that’s why I didn’t hear back. I returned the next day feeling worse asking for an opportunity to see the doctor and was told by the male receptionist did I think I was entitled and I haven’t seen the doctor in 2 years what do I expect. And then he proceeded to ignore me. I walked out, called another doctor upon a family recommendation and was diagnosed with bronchitis that if left untreated could lead to pneumonia. Please note this is not a reflection on Dr Buono he’s a wonderful doctor and I’m sorry that I will no longer be his patient. His receptionist needs lessons on how to be courteous and compassionate instead of rude and insolent. He is an absolute disgrace and reflects poorly on Dr Buono.

Doctor Joseph Buono is an excellent Primary Doctor. He’s knowledgeable, caring and listens to you.responds quickly to all of your test results. What a bummer i had an insurance sold to me, unbeknownst to me, he was not on this plan. Working to get a plan that he accepts. Haven’t seen a doctor in over a year, hopefully I can get on a plan he accepts and be back to this super good Doctor !

Nice guy. Personable. Listens to what you say and offers clear advice to your needs. Office staff is friendly and very helpful.

I had previously left a more negative review due to a long wait time, but Dr. Buono called me personally to discuss the situation, and I am now changing my rating. Very rarely do I encounter someone who not only takes the time to address concerns in this way, and my only complaint was the wait time. I feel very confident recommending Dr. Buono now, as his character and integrity matches his concern for his patients, and his knowledge. He stayed extra late that day to make sure he saw all his patients, and did not rush any of them through the office.
