Bushra Amin, MD

I met with Dr. Amin on 10/6/2021. I was excited to have a female doctor of color treat me. I went to her sick with nausea I had for weeks, and she dismissed me, writing in her chart that I was just a stressed-out single mother of three. I have been married for 15 years and own my home; the only stress was that unbearable nausea at that time. Here I am, an educated brown Latina, in front of a highly educated brown woman, feeling judged. She then prescribed the wrong dose of medication (as per my Gastroenterologist) and left me continuing to feel ill for days. It took me this long to write a legible review not filled with anger. She broke me that day because of what she wrote on my chart, which is still visible to all the doctors I visit. I am embarrassed because I felt stereotyped and unheard. Shame on me for feeling like that. Single or not, my pain was dismissed by a doctor who pledged to do no harm, and no one deserves that.

She is very professional and caring.
