Bart Avrum Kummer, MD

Scheduled a colonoscopy with Dr Kummer as recommended by my primary. Colonoscopy requires prior preparation and there is no way to reach Dr Kummer or the nurses to clarify questions. Tried messages thru the NYU portal, called the office to request nurses for call back and leaving voicemail. They just ignored you and don’t care about the patient.

Dr. Kummer is a qualified physician but he abandons his patients & behaves like the Wizard of Oz. He hides behind 3 layers of administrative people & a nurse practitioner so it's impossible to get through. I've had problems since August & have been told there is a 5-month wait to see him. I can't even get a phone call back. What doctor won't call a patient? I appeared in person to see if I could get an appointment sooner & was tricked into thinking I'd see him, when they actually scheduled me with a nurse practitioner I had never heard of. This is how he treats current patients.

Saw him for the 1st time and was impressed and felt completely comfortable. He was thorough and went thru all of medical records which were available on the NYU "mychart". Not an easy task, I suspect. Glad he was recommended to me and would recommend him to family and friends without hesitation.
