This review is solely based on my experience booking a dental cleaning through zocdoc last minute. I was grateful to get an appointment here through zocdoc last minute. I’ve used zocdoc for many years , never having an issue with any type of doctor or office. Imagine my surprise after waiting over 20 minutes for Dr Young to come to the room to explain to me that I would have to pay $250 upfront regardless of what procedure I would be getting (which he knew would be a cleaning and my insurance fully covers) and that I would have to wait for the claim to come back to get reimbursed for what my insurance covers. I’ve never had a dental insurance decline to cover a cleaning 100%. So that’s just his policy because he wants to charge the overhead. When I declined to pay this he told me that I must be confused with he’s saying. I was not confused. Then he explained zocdoc charged him $200 for me to book. Somehow, I don’t see how I have to pay for that. If you don’t want to be charged those fees , then you should not use that service. Just refusing to pay for $250 for a cleaning and then wait for him to reimburse me the $250 I knew my insurance would cover? What would be billed to my insurance? That’s a risk I did not feel comfortable taking at this point. Update your information on zocdoc or call me in the morning to inform me of the charges. Know that you’re taking a risk on this person and that their policies aren’t standard.
