I have previously seen both the female and male doctors at this office, and they were exceptional and very detailed. Unfortunately, my experience today with the male PA was very disappointing. Patients come from different educational and medical backgrounds, and a basic part of healthcare should be making patients feel comfortable asking questions. No patient should be made to feel like their questions are “dumb” or inconvenient. This is rule 101. As someone who also works in healthcare, I was especially disappointed by the lack of patience and empathy during my visit. Patient education should be treated as an important part of care, not as a burden. From a human perspective, if a provider becomes frustrated by patients asking questions, that is deeply concerning in a healthcare setting. Maybe he should consider a job outside of healthcare. I left the appointment feeling dismissed and upset, which is unfortunate because my previous experiences with the doctors at this office had been very positive.
