If you go in for an annual wellness check, and the doctor tries asking you routine questions, decline to answer! I had my first checkup with a new Dr at Westside, so she asked some basic intro questions including what I do for work and if I ever get stressed. I said “sometimes, but I manage it.” Apparently they have a psychologist at the practice which she offered, but I declined and said I already have one. I was CHARGED for anxiety management for this brief exchange. I never asked to be evaluated or referred for mental health, as I was just there for my annual and get my blood tested. They also added to my billing for management of things that were not new or relevant to my visit. All I was there for was to do a wellness check and get blood tested. Another example was charging for testing of POTS, because I asked if this is something they offer at Westside (typically done via a tilt table test). The doctor replied they do not offer this service. I was charged anyway for it, as well as a specialist referral, but I was never tested or given any referrals. When I reached out to question these charges, they said they’d pass my questions along, but nobody ever got back to me. I don’t want to assume unethical practices but unfortunately have been very disappointed by this practice and caution against visiting them.
