This might seem long winded, but to speed things up for the person who doesn’t want to read the entire message. It is only filled with great feedback.
Alright, from the top we are going to start from the very beginning.
Making the first call to SEMC when we got our first positive pregnancy test. We knew we wanted Dr. Karlyn Armbruster. Her nurses were Mo and Jess
Jess is full of energy always trying to make us laugh.
Mo is calm, witty, and so kind.
Karlyn is what I would consider Zen. She just has such a soft-spoken voice. Extremely knowledgeable and can build confidence. Every appointment was positive.
Jumping forward to our Scheduled induction date, bear in mind we had 3 nights spent in the hospital, so we had lots of nurses taking care of us. We have something very positive to say about every single one of them.
First Night, start of induction we had Shelby who honestly was the perfect nurse to start our 3-day journey. She explained everything perfectly. Never left us questioning what was next. Around Midnight we ran into the first road bump, contractions. These were early ones that came on strong. Shelby stuck by our side through them and helped find the right solution.
Morning came, Birth-Day. We had two nurses, Lexi and Dani
Dani who is calm, collected, and very experienced in the job and personal life.
Lexi who is reassuring, energetic, and quick to explain what is going on.
As we got closer to delivering our first child we went through everything beforehand, so we didn’t have questions or concerns with Dr Karlyn, Dani, and Lexi.
Our anesthesiologist Tom explained very clearly our pain management options. We decided on the epidural. Tom successfully performed the procedure without issue. Tom was professional through and through.
Our Baby Nurse Kaylyn was so kind and gentle giving us every opportunity to be around our newborn baby. She helped take pictures and just was a so easy to talk with about everything that they were doing.
It was an extremely successful delivery. I believe the staff had a lot to do with how everything went and kept our nerves down. We truly had all the confidence in the world with Dr. Karlyn, and her staff.
The night nurse we had was Emma. Now both of us were extremely tired from the night prior. The constant in and out, and commotion of it all. Emma was truly a blessing in disguise. She was able to keep our baby happy most of the night, only waking us for feeding.
Thursday Morning comes and we had Dani again. Very attentive to all our questions and concerns. We never felt out of place. Always keeping the mood light.
Thursday Evening comes and Emma was back. It was almost as good as the first night. Again, letting us get our much-needed rest. She went over bathing, and making sure we were comfortable enough for when we went home.
Friday Morning, Discharge Day! Shelby was back! She was very helpful getting ready to go home. Made sure we were all prepared. Even helped get the Car Seat out of the vehicle.
All in all, the staff here are amazing. From the front clinic to the hospital. It is obvious that the team here cares about every single new family that walks into that hallway. It brings tears to our eyes for how grateful we truly are. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing Medical Center in our little town of Sleepy Eye.
