The Training Institute Of Npap

I am an advanced psychoanalyst-in-training at NPAP and thus far have had a great experience with my supervisors and the staff. Except for 1 instructor (over the last 8 years), I have had a wonderful experience with my instructors. Any issue I have had has been quickly resolved with the faculty committee. Overall, my instructors and supervisors have been supportive, nurturing, and often offered great mentorship along the way. The way the curriculum is set up and the pace in which you can take coursers, offers much flexibility for adults with family responsibilities and full-time careers. I have met a wide range of interesting peers in my courses. I also appreciate that NPAP teaches a wide range of psychoanalytic theoretical perspectives from Freud, to Object Relations, Intersubjective, relational, etc allowing for the student to grow into their own style. In the clinic where you see patients, I have had the pleasure of working with patients of all walks of life making my training quite rich.

NPAP offered me well-rounded psychoanalytic training honoring a multiplicity of perspectives. I really appreciated the individualized pace that worked for me as the mother of a young child and a full-time academic. While NPAP is not very ethnically and racially diverse at this time, sincere efforts are under way to change this state of affairs.
