Had knee replacement surgery 12/09/2025 and the team in rehab unit are 100% AWESOME. Two hours after surgery I had to get up and walk - Rose was understanding and made the occupational therapy journey effective, fun (I made the eyes for their winning Christmas tree in the hospital’s contest), and helped drive home the daily adaptive needs as I worked towards independence. Tyler, oh Tyler my physical therapist was the former English teacher who could not understand the colorful and descriptive nature of describing my pain. Yes this marketing major talked about her drooping and falling leg that had a dramatic flair but it made our interaction that more interesting especially when I told him I would pushed him first into the zombies that may escape from the morgue as we traversed the basement to go to the big gym. Overall my 10 days in rehab did what it was supposed to but it’s the people - Dr. Ross, Dr. Chan all the nurses especially Ms. Bamgbala (way to go in passing g your exam) and all the patient care team (though those 6:00 am wake up was brutal)! Even when a particular patient got loud at 2:00 am and started a symphony worthy of being on Broadway I would still rate it 5/5. So will I do my next knee? Hmmmmm.
