Idk if it’s just me or the treadmills are SUPER fast here; 8 mph here did not feel like 8 mph at any other equinox using the newer Life Fitness treadmills. Clientele was surprisingly really nice; my first time having positive experiences with equinox members. Staff was also very nice and attentive. Facilities are a bit old but the layout is very spacious

As a sauna/steam/cold plunge enthusiast and a swimmer, I joined Destination Access to try out all Equinoxes in NYC that have aquatics facilities, and this location stands out. It has the hottest sauna and the coldest cold plunge (stainless steel, kept around 45-50F), right next to each other (all co-ed). There is also a steam room next to the sauna but it seems rarely used because the sauna is so good. Also kudos to having 2 lounge chairs right by the pool to relax after the cold plunge. None of the other Equinoxes in NYC have the trifecta of "sauna-cold plunge-lounge chair" in one room. Domino comes close but the only place you can lie down is a marble slab by the pool. Although the swimming pool is only 18 yards and usually not as pristine as HY or Domino, it has good classes so I might just cancel Destination Access and join this one only for the sauna. I've never seen it crowded during weekday off-hours. It's also the ONLY Equinox where the music is less EDM and more ambient, probably catering to the main club demographic of retirees. I'm basically closer to retirement and I now appreciate that more than feeling like I'm at a rave. The work area has several tables, a few sofas and bar height stools by the window, and the music is soft enough that you can have video calls without getting distracted. The interior design is not as slick as the newer locations, but who cares about appearances when the experience is so much nicer?
