The main office and administrative staff are extremely disappointing and, frankly, highly incompetent at their jobs. I was especially frustrated to learn that they were closing the Bayonne office less than 2 years after absorbing it into NYS&J. In my opinion, the Bayonne office was by far the best location. Jaime, Dr. Huish, the physical therapy staff, and the entire team at that office were consistently exceptional—professional, caring, attentive, and genuinely helpful not only with my medical treatment, but also with the documentation and coordination required for my Workers’ Compensation case. Notes and PARs were always posted promptly, and any requests for records or paperwork were treated as a priority and handled with urgency. Unfortunately, NYS&J as a whole seems to treat patients like numbers rather than individuals. The difference between my experience at the former Bayonne office (previously Motion Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation) and the larger NYS&J system is truly night and day. Dr. Huish and Dr. Vlattas, are both excellent physicians who clearly care about their patients. However, NYS&J corporate operations appear to care far more about profits and volume than actual patient care or timely service. For example, I saw Dr. Huish and Dr. Vlattas over a month ago, and their notes still have not been posted to my eCase. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and frankly pathetic—especially considering how quickly these matters were handled before. In Workers’ Compensation cases, delays like this can directly impact treatment approvals, benefits, and legal proceedings. Calling the main office for help is equally frustrating. Patients are routinely left on endless hold, transferred repeatedly, or told that issues will be handled—only for nothing to happen for weeks. Follow-up is poor, accountability is worse, and basic administrative competence seems to be lacking. If not for the quality of care provided by Dr. Huish and Dr. Vlattas themselves, I would have already transferred my case elsewhere. I will greatly miss the Bayonne office and the incredible staff who worked there. They set a standard of professionalism and patient care that NYS&J has clearly failed to maintain. Disclaimer: This review is not directed at the Duane Street location specifically, but rather at NYS&J as a company and its overall administration.
