I first saw Dr. Simon in 2018, when he diagnosed me with a serious lis franc injury. He recommended non-surgical treatment but encouraged me to get a second opinion at Hospital for Special Surgery given how serious and relatively rare my injury was. The second opinion agreed that non-surgical would be the best course of action given my injury, so Dr. Simon put me in a non weight bearing cast for a total of 4 months, followed by several months of physical therapy. It was very scary, and I was worried about my quality of life given the serious nature of my injury. Dr. Simon took the time to explain everything in detail and was incredibly reassuring. He was conservative in the treatment, and was detailed in what he recommended and why, including showing me the imaging that lead to the diagnosis. After my cast was removed, he recommended custom orthotics which have been essential for me! I just went back for new orthotics (the first pair lasted me 7 years!) and was very happy to catch up with Dr. Simon and let him know how grateful I was for his knowledge, care, and compassion during what was a painful and scary time for me. I’m doing great—no pain, no loss of quality of life—thanks to Dr. Simon. Highly recommend!
