I had an emergency on June 9, 2026. I called SightMD in Rockville Centre & they gave me an appointment right away. Drain cleaner had splashed into my right eye & needed to see a MD immediately. From the beginning I walked into this practice, everybody was wonderful. The technician checked my vision & a medical technician went over my situation. I saw Dr Alexander Hatsis who was exceptional. His knowledge, caring & kindness was just what I needed. He went over the drops that he wanted me to use for 2 days & told me how my recovery would be. I would highly recommend Dr Hatsis & SightMD in Rockville Centre. They were all “Angels”.

2 stars for SightMD — and that’s being generous. I booked this appointment specifically for help with contact lenses. I clearly explained that to at least three different staff members during check-in and intake. Not one person told me they don’t even offer that service. Instead, I waited about an hour, had my eyes dilated, and only then—when I finally saw the doctor—was I told they don’t handle contacts. At that point, I was asked if I’d be interested in eye surgery, since that’s what they actually do. So I lost an hour, paid a copay, and basically burned a full workday because no one in the office bothered to flag something that should’ve been caught immediately. The doctor apologized and seemed genuine—this wasn’t on him. But the front desk and intake staff completely failed here. This is basic stuff. If you know why you’re going in, double-check they actually provide that service before you waste your time. Or better yet, just go to the SightMD Garden City location instead.
