Today I was going to be working with a friend who had to postpone our work because of an appointment with Dr. Resnik. When I went to check in about rescheduling, it turns out her appointment with this doctor had turned into some kind of demoralizing interaction that involved blaming previous therapists and making pronouncements about how she “will never be able to find a psychiatrist”. The level of inappropriate behavior this man put upon my friend, who was in need of support, was incredible. Her previous therapist even chimed in and said that Dr. Resnick’s comments were “inaccurate”. I truly find that doctors in the profession of working with patients who may be dealing with so many possible things that have made their lives a little bit harder should have an extra high level of compassion and support when interacting with them. This man apparently does not. I don’t recommend anyone who behaves like this.
