Intake was great! Checking in was easy. Pre-op nurse was a-mazing! She had everything under control. Sorry to say post-op was a mess!!! I saw my husband wheeled out of Recovery and his status didn't change to Phase II for at least a half hour. I saw 2 different nurses come out and look around but no name was called. Finally another nurse came out and asked for me by name. She hesitated when I responded and initially said to wait while she checked something. Then she said ok, follow me, and she said my husband was upset because I wasn't there. When I got to where he was in the back, the nurses insisted they called out my name. I know one of them did come out and ask for someone, but it was not my name. Then, the nurse who was supposed to remove the IV and give instructions on dealing with the catheter and bag was very confused. She initially had the wrong chart for someone else, then disappeared while we stood waiting. Another nurse removed the catheter. She also didn't understand questions we asked. Eventually she did give us the right information. Finally, we validated our parking ticket at check-in and I was told to use the machine outside to pay. When I got outside, the machine didn't work. I tried several times. When I came back into reception, I was told "oh, that machine doesn't work, use the one in the garage" Really?? The whole procedure was stressful enough. All of this just added to our stress. We used your hospital for years when we were raising our family in Riverdale. It was always a positive experience. What happened to you guys?
