Miss. S.Ramos
I am writing to formally express my extreme frustration and disappointment regarding the lack of actual assistance provided to domestic violence victims. At 52 years old, I have reached out to numerous non-profit organizations, as well as city and state agencies, seeking help. Instead of receiving the support I need, I have been repeatedly subjected to a "run around," where I am simply given one phone number after another. I have yet to receive substantive help, whether it is counseling or even basic assistance with transportation to medical appointments necessitated by my situation. Furthermore, I have frequently encountered unprofessional attitudes from the very individuals who are supposed to be providing aid. These organizations receive city, state, and federal funding specifically to help victims. Given my experience, I believe it is necessary to audit these funds to ensure they are being used for their intended purpose rather than administrative overhead or other interests. The treatment of domestic violence victims must change. I am a victim in need of immediate, tangible assistance, and I am asking for your help in addressing these systemic failures. I look forward to hearing from you regarding how this situation can be rectified.
