Absolutely terrible. My husband was brought in at about 8-9am after getting hit by a car. He got a bunch of scans and X-rays done right away and that was it. He was covered in dirt, dust, and dry blood and they never cleaned him or even treated any of the scratches and scrapes he had. He was told multiple times that he was waiting for a room in the surgical department to receive surgery for his broken nose. We waited and waited and was moved around multiple times in the ER to compensate for the emergencies that were coming in but the surgical unit could not get a room for us. After 24 hours the trauma unit finally comes and sees my husband and tells him that he does not require surgery so he waited hours being moved around to be told that he actually doesn’t need surgery. After that, we were told that he can go home and just wait for the discharge papers however, it took four hours for the surgical unit to give us a discharge paper. 😡 The surgical unit also was never responsive to the point where the nurses in the ER were complaining with us about the lack of communication that department has. I completely understand that surgery requires constant attention, but for situations like this, there should be people in the surgical unit that work at a desk who can help with these situations. The nurses in the ER were very nice, helpful and communicated. Our problem was with the surgical unit.
