In my experience, the communication at/with the Rochdale location is unfortunately very poor. I advise any new patients to walk with a physical copy of their referral or prepare their PCP to have it sent at the time of their appointment due to this location’s mismanagement of faxes. I spoke with two phone line operators who encouraged me to fax my referral to the Rochdale location, only for it to be lost when it was time for my appointment. As explained to me by the front desk representative, they’re unable to tell or track who picks up faxes and what they do with it. As a patient it is very uncomfortable to hear that faxes are regarded carelessly when they likely contain sensitive information. There was also either little transparency with me over what Dr. Kwait is able to do or a general gap in training for the phone line operators. I scheduled my consultation appointment for glasses and, again, it wasn’t until after I’d traveled 30+ minutes in our current temperatures and wandered for 15+ minutes to find the location of the center (as it’s mislabeled on Maps and the phone line operator was unable to direct me) that the front desk rep. explained that Dr. Kwait does not handle glasses. It’s unprofessional all around, the back & forth and sheer time wasted that took place for an appointment that should’ve never been scheduled in the first place. It’s clear retraining is needed for the phone line y, even down to the way they schedule appointments. This wasn’t even my initial appointment time; after scheduling the first time, I received a check in email for a time completely opposite my own which should’ve told me right off the bat how little patients’ time is valued with Advantage Care.
