Five stars is not enough! Dr. Bauman is an extraordinary doctor in every way. As a professional dancer, injuries and recoveries are par for the course. Dr. Bauman is not only an extraordinary orthopedic surgeon, he is also a dance medicine specialist. His brilliant understanding of the body is hyper nuanced and unparalleled. Dr. Bauman is the best in New York. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to ever operate on me, whether I was a dancer or not! I have successfully recovered from two surgeries thanks to Dr. Bauman’s healing hands—he is a master surgeon. Recovering from an injury and managing pain feels less devastating and achievable with Dr. Bauman because of his gentleness, patience, warmth, kindness, extreme care, wisdom, and unwavering support. You cannot help but feel Dr. Bauman’s devotion and care as he guides you and helps you through your rehabilitation journey. He also happens to be one of the nicest and kindest humans on Earth. Dr. Bauman is so unbelievably generous with his time, going above and beyond to make himself available for his patients. His commitment feels unwavering and steadfast, through and through. He has emailed and phone called after hours and even on weekends, to check in and address concerns/emergencies. Perhaps most importantly, Dr. Bauman does not push surgery but instead conservatively and thoughtfully approaches treatment options. He only suggests undergoing surgery when it’s absolutely necessary. He is a doctor you can actually trust. Simply put, he is just the greatest. Period.
