Thank you for everything ladies! if I ever end up delivering again I hope to have you both as my rock star nurses. As well as the OR team C-section went well and smooth they made sure my case was top priority! anesthesia team were very nice and made sure I was comfortable during the operation I’m blessed to have run into the best team at HOCC for my birth experience - Davalis 💕

I recently spent two nights in this hospital. I was supposed to have an outpatient procedure in the cardiology Cath lab that ended up requiring admission to the hospital. While my time spent in the Cath lab w/ their team of nurses and doctors and technicians was absolutely without issue, I wish I would have known how awful it was going to be once I was admitted to the hospital. They were managing my pain with a narcotic however after approximately an hour of getting the medication in my IV; the pain we return. Since my pain level was not being managed by the medication, they made the decision that I could not be cared for at home and should be admitted to the hospital. Once I got my room here is a list of my biggest issues: 1. Pushing the nurse call button; it was unclear based on the technology or the response time whether I was actually heard. In such pain I would count down the minutes to the next time I was able to get my next dosage of narcotic pain medication. Sometimes the red light would stay on and others it looked like I hadn’t pushed it. Also the intercom button would ring I as if I had called it. It was on the table next to me, I hadn’t leaned on it. 2. At one point I threw up a couple times and had to ask for the nurses to bring me something to throw up into. The same plastic bin was then left in my room with the contents in it on my table (where they brought in my meals) for at least 12 hours 3.They didn't seem to know whether I was a fall risk or not. I was on heavy pain medication and could barely walk due to delirium, nausea and weakness. As I mentioned previously and at one point I had to use the bathroom to pee. The fall risk alarm on the bed was a joke because I set it off and for over 25+ minutes it just continued to beep and no one ever came. One of the nurses came in and said, ‘ But you're independent… aren't you?’ I had to figure out how to unplug my own IV so I could wheel and try to crawl into the bathroom to pee by myself. 4.They have white erase boards near the patient’s bed that tell you what your name is, why you're in the hospital, who your nurse is, when you're next pain medication is coming, what your pain number is and what your discharge goals are. This was so sad, because they never wrote anything on the board other than the nurse's name. I had no idea the next time or what medication was coming for me to help with the pain. In addition to that, every time there was a shift change that would add an additional hour on to whatever scheduled time my next pain medication dosage at one point 5.I was vomiting and peeing from the force, in my hospital bed and I would call the nurse and have to explain to them what was going on I remember them not really knowing why I was in pain which is alarming since they have my entire chart up in front of them; hypothetically. 6.If I was in distress & the nurse was visiting her patient on the other side of the curtain, they would pretend that I wasn't there. I was moaning in pain asking for things. 7. When I pushed my call button the voice that would come back through the intercom sounded like the most unhappy, uncaring voice saying, ‘what do you want’. 8. The 2nd night I was able to unplug my IV and wander down the hallway to try to find out who my nurse was. I did this because I knew that shift-change had happened she had not come in and introduce herself to me. I found her name next to mine on the wall in the hallway. She seemed confused because I asked her specifically by name and she said, ‘That's me… who are you?’ 9. I asked for toothpaste /ear plugs, and disposable underwear since I had not intended to stay overnight. Toothpaste /earplugs never showed up. 10. I remember having to explain what procedure I had had done to the nurses and also to the supervising Dr. In a way that felt like they didn't know or hadn't heard of it. 11. The alarms beeping in our room would go off for 30+ minutes. We'd have to call each time to the nurse's station. 12. Hospital has a 24/7 visitation policy, people in your room talking at any hour of the night?
