I had a great experience at their other location- Eye on Second, where everything was clearly explained and charged upfront before I saw the doctor. This visit felt very different. Although an email (explaining options) was sent the day before, I wasn’t aware of that email, and no one confirmed whether I understood the options when I arrived at the store. I expected to pay a $10 copay for a comprehensive exam. When I mentioned that I wear contacts, I didn’t know that would automatically add a contact lens exam costing over $200. The front desk told me to go ahead first and they’d explain the copay afterward. After the exam, I was told the total was $275. I feel really unsettled because the cost should have been communicated upfront before I saw the doctor, rather than assuming every patient has read the multiple emails and texts sent beforehand. I just don’t like the feeling of being pushed into an additional exam I didn’t knowingly agree to, especially one that ended up costing a fortune. If you’re going, I would recommend confirming the cost of every exam you’re advised to do and getting all charges clarified before seeing the doctor.
