I came to Cornell from another clinic. I was at my other clinic for 13 months with nothing to show for it but stress, frustration and 5 failed cycles. I called Cornell on a whim one morning after seeing recommendations in a local Facebook group for Dr. Goldschlag. His coordinator, Shanise, was SO kind and SO helpful. She got me in for my consultation within 2 weeks. I met with Dr. Goldschlag and left the appointment in tears because for the first time in our journey to become parents I felt like I was treated like a human being and saw some hope start to come back. Dr. Goldschlag is one of the kindest men and doctors I have come to know. He treated me with respect every step of the way and "believed me" to trust my body - not something you find a lot with doctors these days. I also saw Dr. Kang and Dr. Spandorfer at multiple visits and they were just as amazing. I went to the South Hampton office for majority of my monitoring with the PA, Audrey and we love her, too! Even the staff at NYP was amazing. After 13 months with our first clinic with nothing, Dr. Goldschlag and his team at Cornell got me pregnant immediately. Between my initial consultation and my successful transfer it was a total of 3 months. Even the billing department was very easy to work with and submitted everything to our insurance with no issues! I recommend Dr. Goldschlag every chance I get, and because of him I am staring at my 5 week old. We will 100% be back for baby #2 when we are ready!

I received this recommendation from a close friend. My hopes were high, however the experience has been disappointing on every level. First of all, they charge about $1,000 for about 15 seconds with the MD. I have a certain expectation about this price point and the highly personal and intimate condition this institution is presumably attempting to treat. Capitation care does not cut it. It becomes apparent fairly quickly this is first and foremost about profit. I had pre-cert procedures to get done; Pfeifer MD claimed I did not complete one of these and would have do "come back and start over". Looked into it and actually I did complete it...but I guess why not lie to me and be able charge me another $2,500 for a do over. Second, there is a factory, militarized feel to this place. No one knows your name, they certainly do not know your chart and when the nurses with attitude call, they have their marching orders to tell you a singular protocol. Any questions are met with cricket silence..because you are after all, just a billable number with a uterus here. Third, Pfeifer MD does NOT have a good bedside manner. If you disagree or worse ask a question she is extremely defensive. The ego and competence are not in alignment on this one. At this price point and in the specialization of fertility, a dose of humble humility would be nice. I have had fairly routine challenges along the way and her response was vacant and refers me to the constantly rotating nursing team (not sure I have ever spoken to the same nurse twice over 6 months) and to prescribe me hormones contraindicated for fertility. Hmm. A good doctor would give context around this,,ahh but that would require personal attention beyond my serial number. Given the military theatre like setup I have no earthly idea how/where/how much it costs to ask a question on a prescription order. This leads me to my final comment about WC and it relates to the Billing arm of this operation. A comment above notes this and anyone considering WC should be aware that you are signing away key rights just to be seen here. Then when you do pay, you get the following "notice" from WC attorney block: "In accordance with NYS General Business Law 519 (a) take notice that when you pay with a credit card, you will be ""foregoing"'" certain state and federal legal rights that apply to medical debt, including protections for interest rate limits, credit agency reporting, wage garnishment and property liens" Stay with me here. by paying with a Credit Card at WC you are ceding your state and federal rights when it comes to medical billing which were created due to medical billing abuses being so rampant in the U.S.. It just does not sound very patient centered to me. Combine this with the fact that there billing arm is moronic and it is a recipe for disaster. Hard pass,,I would NEVER RECOMMEND this place to an enemy much less a friend. WC should be ashamed of themselves for so insiduously manipulating a woman's hope of a child to extract maximum financial gain.
