I went to this practice a few times out of convenience - her office was around the corner from my house - each time was a bad experience. I found Dr. Poran to be quite cagey. She had a really hard time getting the correct prescription for me and was visibly annoyed at me when I told her the setting was worse than before. So much so I found myself apologizing! She rushed me out with the wrong prescription. On another visit she scanned my eyes and I raised an issue I remembered a previous doctor had flagged. When I told her about it her response was that she had also observed it. What struck me was if I didn’t bring it up, she wouldn’t have either. Lastly, she never had saved my files, so every time I came in she had no record of me.

My husband and I have different eye issues. First, Dr. Poran saved me from a horrific case of conjunctivitis. Second, throughout Covid, once she re-opened, she and her husband maintained a safe atmosphere for all clients to enter her office safely. Third, she is a lovely, kind and caring doctor who has helped to maintain our Brooklyn neighborhood and keep it rock n’ rolling. We need people like her in Carroll Gardens/cobble hill. 5 stars!
