My brother passed away last year. I have limited family or friend support. It was even more limited during this time. I had one frIend who I did talk to who help me realize that I needed more support. So I was able to get a therapist through Oak Street to talk with me for a series of phone seesions to help me deal with my emotions and the initial grief I encountered. The social worker and case manager have been very supportive also. One of the reasons for coming to Oak Street was exactly for these direct service that I was not getting but needed, particularly as an older adult. We can't do all those things that we may even have been able to do successfully in the past. It's even ironic, when many of these services, I could help others navigate myself in the past.
