Dr Lau is an exceptional surgeon professionally and personally. My husband and I are extremely grateful to him and his amazing team. My husband had an Atrial Septal Defect which needed a repair and due to its location only an open heart surgery was the solution. My husband had the ASD and tricuspid valve repair in February 2026. From the first visit for consultation to the most recent visit for his post surgery appointment, he has been amazing. He is kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, and so patient. From the moment we met him, we knew we were in good hands. We had the surgery at Weill Cornell hospital and from start to finish, it was a 5 star experience at the hospital with the most caring ICU nurses and overall staff. Dr. Lau is exactly what a cardiac surgeon should be—calm, collected, and confident. Despite his young appearance, it is very clear that he has exceptional skill and mastery in his field. He performed my mother’s quadruple bypass surgery, and her outcome has been very good so far. We did not select him ourselves; he was assigned to us during her hospital admission.
