The absolute worst experience we had yesterday. We waited over 2 1/2 hours in the waiting room after our daughter was vomiting nonstop. We finally get taken into the back. The nurse does not come in and do any basic vital signs for over an hour. I had to hook her up personally to all the equipment. We waited over nine hours for them to tell us that our daughter had a stomach bug. The lab took over four hours just to get her urine sample back. Pure laziness and lack for any patient care at all. I'm completely ashamed to say that I work for this healthcare organization. We were treated like a second class citizen at best. The triage nurse Amret Rama was completely unprofessional and rude. The staff on the Thursday midnight shift have no bedside manners and should be immediately removed from working at this hospital. A terrible experience.

There are exceptional nurses, and then there is Lauren Meyer. She is a truly rare and compassionate presence in the PICU. Lauren is everything a family hopes for when their child is at their most vulnerable. She is kind, empathetic, personable, patient, and loving in the way she cares for both her patients and their families. From the first moment we met her, Lauren made my Nephew and I feel not just cared for, but supported, comforted, and genuinely seen. That kind of warmth is something you can’t teach. It is simply who she is. Lauren didn’t just do her job. She handled everything with grace, from making the bed with care to managing her complex nursing responsibilities. She moved with a calm dedication that brought comfort. Her presence alone made the room feel safer. She listens, she explains, and she anticipates needs before you even speak them. She treated my family and I with dignity and compassion. Lauren is the kind of nurse others should look up to. She is a true example of what nursing is meant to be. Cohen Children’s is lucky to have her, and families who meet her will never forget the impact she makes. Thank you Lauren for reminding me that humanity and kindness still exist in this world❤️
