Mr. Ferris
Firstly, what can I say about “New York Torture Committee” that haven’t been said about San Quentin prison. I was recently mandated here for 6 months after a DUI. After 5 months of perfect attendance and negative toxicology tests I left the building without taking one toxicology test due to a dinner reservation. The next week I took the tests and as usual it was negative. But since I had missed one, the director decided to force me to sign a one month final contract of perfect attendance and perfect toxicologies or I would be booted from the program and referred to a higher level of care. My counselor Debra P. did nothing to interject. I felt helpless and trapped so I signed, they also added another 2 months of treatment ($12,000+) based on my lab invoice. Secondly the director, Luis Ventura speaks to everyone in a condescending manner. He despises outspoken, opinionated individuals and even his staff were not immune to his iron fist. No one should ever be treated like this especially when your insurance is paying ($36,000+) for 6 months of treatment. Thirdly, this place is a sham and their main goal is to keep inmates “clients” here as long as possible, so they can keep bilking their insurance like a parasite. Be smart and research other facilities if you’re mandated to a program. Just remember you have the choice so don’t sentence yourself to this deep dark hole of depression.
