A family member of mine went in 4 times with chest pains they told him he has arthritis of the spine and just pumped him up with painkillers, went to a different hospital because it just got worse and we were being ignored. I’m Glad I took him to the city because they saved his life. The same night he went in the city He went in for emergency stents because he had what’s called a widow maker, he would’ve died. His spine is fine, but his arteries were not. He also went in for chest pains after the first stents were put in. He arrived by ambulance not one person checked on him for an hour. I drove to the hospital myself, took him out of SIUH with the IV still in his arm and drove him to Manhattan where he got the proper care at NYU. It is disgusting How neglectful this hospital is.
