New York Hand Surgery

I injured my hand 9/28/25 and sought treatment 10/20/25. Don’t delay getting a proper assessment!! Dr. Patel is a consummate professional and true humanitarian. The reception staff are kind and efficient. Dr. Patel listens intently and has a gentle approach to addressing options for treatment. He and his team established a thorough plan to treat my right thumb fracture. The Brooklyn location offers: imaging, assessment, custom brace design and hand therapy for recovery. I was assured that my travel plans in 6 weeks is possible and was fitted with a thumb brace/stabilizer for my trip. In the meantime I’ll wear the full brace. Wow! Thank you Dr. Patel and team!

I love Dr. Patel, he is great. Very knowledgeable and great bedside manner. My issue is with the office and trying to make an appointment on the phone. TWICE I have called to make an appointment and asked to see Dr. Patel, specifically, and then arrived to find I was seeing a PA and that Dr. Patel isn’t even in on that day. The first time, I made the appointment on the phone with a man and asked to see Dr. Patel. Instead when I arrived, I saw a PA who was nice but unfortunately misdiagnosed my thumb issue and thus gave me a cortisone shot in the wrong area. The second time I called to make an appointment with Dr. Patel - again specifically requesting Dr Patel. The man I spoke to on the phone said Dr. Patel wouldn’t be back until October 16th. I called back later that day and asked for an appointment October 16th with Dr. Patel, again speaking to a man. He gave me an appointment for October 17th. I just arrived and found out I am seeing the same PA as before. I don’t understand what is happening here but it feels borderline fraudulent and it’s really frustrating to come all the way to the office and find out you’re not seeing the doctor you made the appointment with.
