I’m extremely disappointed with the level of care I received at this hospital’s Women’s Health/Gynecology department. After speaking with my provider over the phone, I was told that medication would be sent in and a referral to would be placed. Neither of those things were done. No prescription was sent, no referral was made, and no one followed up with me. Because of this delay, my symptoms became much worse and I ended up having to go to urgent care for treatment that should have been handled by my primary provider. I also sent multiple MyChart messages with no response, which made the situation even more stressful. What concerns me most is the lack of communication and follow-through. Basic continuity of care should not be this hard to receive. Patients shouldn’t have to chase down their providers or advocate this aggressively just to get the treatment they were already promised. I hope the hospital reviews this issue seriously, because delays like this can easily lead to preventable complications. No patient should feel ignored or unsafe in their care.
