If I could give a zero - I would. The pain mgt department at Sinai is truly awful - unless you have cancer - and then they have no problem prescribing narcotics. They have bought in to the misguided idea that prescribing narcotics for chronic back pain is always inappropriate and are unwilling to make exceptions. Having been a nurse for 50 years - and having undergone three back surgeries - and NEVER GONE OUT ON DISABILITY AND HAVE AKWAYS FUNCTIONED AT A HIGH LEVEL - the only reason I have been able to do that is because I have a pain doctor who assesses each patient as an individual - and is willing to prescribe drugs to certain patients when all else has failed - which was my situation. Not all patients that take narcotics end up on Fentanyl - believe it or not!
