I’ve been coming to this dental office for a few years, and I do want to start by saying that I’ve generally had good experiences here when it comes to the quality of care. The staff is friendly, and the cleanings themselves have always been thorough and professional. However, I’ve consistently felt uncomfortable with the financial aspect of my visits. Even though I have good insurance with full coverage for cleanings, I almost always end up paying out of pocket. After most appointments, I’m recommended additional products or treatments—such as special medicated applications—that aren’t covered by insurance. While these may be helpful, they often feel more like upselling, and I typically end up spending at least $40 each visit. One experience that really stood out was when I was encouraged to get an additional treatment that cost over $400 out of pocket. It ended up being a small application, and I wasn’t clearly informed about the cost beforehand or whether it was truly necessary. I left feeling taken advantage of. I think there needs to be more transparency around pricing and clearer communication before any extra treatments are done, especially when they’re not covered by insurance. Patients should be able to make informed decisions without feeling pressured. Because of these repeated experiences, I no longer feel fully comfortable continuing care here, which is disappointing given the otherwise positive aspects of the office.
