I started seeing Dr. Garcia for medication management after relocating and needing to find a new provider. From my very first appointment, I felt a coldness and lack of professionalism in her bedside manner. Unfortunately, due to my insurance, my options were limited—so I continued seeing her. But as you can probably tell from the other one-star reviews (on yelp), I’m not alone in my experience. I’m sharing mine now in the hope that it helps someone else, the way others’ reviews helped me. If you’ve been a patient and left questioning whether you were overreacting or being too sensitive—you’re not. You are not wrong. Dr. Garcia should not be in this field. Period. Her demeanor is cold and unempathetic. As for professionalism—do not expect your appointment to ever start on time. Dr. Garcia accused me of lying about something I had no knowledge or control over, and the way she handled the situation was not only unprofessional but deeply harmful. Capsule Pharmacy had been automatically refilling my medication, and I was unaware that she had not been sending in the prescriptions. I genuinely don’t know how this happened, as there were active refills, and logically, they would have had to come from her at some point. Regardless of the confusion, instead of having a conversation or showing any understanding, she attacked and blamed me—angrily taking out her frustration over something that should have been addressed with clarity and compassion. She seemed more upset that I hadn’t scheduled an appointment in a couple of months, but from my perspective, I didn’t think I needed to because my medication was still being refilled. The result of this confrontation was intense anxiety and panic. In that moment, I felt like I would rather stop taking my medication altogether than have to interact with her ever again. Dr. Garcia does not treat her patients with care or empathy. Frankly, I don’t believe she is capable of it. Her conduct is especially alarming considering she works with individuals who are already struggling with anxiety, panic, and other mental health conditions. She should not be practicing—at least not in the mental health field. Her approach is not only inappropriate but unethical, and I worry about the harm it could cause to others who may be in an even more vulnerable state. If you’re considering booking with her, please explore every other option first. If you’ve already seen her and left feeling worse than when you came in—know that you’re not alone. I’m grateful I’m currently in a stable enough place that her treatment didn’t put me in serious danger—but I worry deeply for other patients who may not be. This is not the care anyone deserves.
