I disagree wholeheartedly with the bad review. Although I haven’t done anything with LP probably since before the pandemic, I have to acknowledge the direct impact they had on me getting housing. Dang, her name escapes me at the moment, wonderful no nonsense but deeply caring sista, I was on the phone with her one day and she tells me she has a real estate broker on other line who’s screening people for an apartment in Staten Island. I meet the guy, meet the land lady, do the paperwork to use my rental assistance voucher, and a few months later I was “formerly homeless.” Sometimes I have to remind myself of that fateful day on the phone and how that contact via Living Positive directly led to housing. I have to do a better job remembering this and giving credit publicly.

By far the most unprofessional organization out there . One person shared a quote about there experience " it feels like they sold me a dream and have never followed through with assisting me with accomplishing my needs/goals". I've found the main staff are extremely rude , rush you off the phone and once they get you to sign up for there services they push you off on a peer which unfortunately once I gained a relationship with my peer I was then starting over once again having to share my story with a new peer. It seems that the staff at LP are a revolving door and don't stay for long periods of time which makes it very difficult to have a healthy relationship n work towards my needs. My best decision was to leave and find myself an agency that had nothing but professional staff . I urge people to find a place because they do exist that will put your needs 1st .
