HORRIBLE experience with the receptionist and the lack of transperency regarding billing. It took me 20 minutes just to book the appointment, I gave them all my insurance information to set an eye exam for my child, 2 hours later as we are checking out we are informed that a part of the exam is not covered by my insurance. At no time was I informed that this service would not be covered, or the cost of such service before hand. At the end they blamed me for not reading the fine print on the forms that said "most insurances do not cover this". I was not informed that this was a necessity for the eye exam nor that I would be refused a prescription for my child's glasses because I was not willing to pay this $70 fee. They refused to take accountability for not disclosing this fee ahead of time and told me in a very condescending manner that it was my fault for not asking explicitly. So my insurance will be billed for a service, but I will not get prescription for my child's glasses. Unethical, unprofessional, and manipulative. I work in a large medical institution and know this is not the way to treat patients, by failing to educate them of their rights and by failing to give them the option to accept or not accept the proposed services. The receptionist was so condescending and unsympathetic and did not allow me to speak to no one other than her to attempt to resolve this issue due to their negilgence in failing to disclose. They are in it for the money not for patient care-APPALLING!
