We have been going to Julia’s practice for about two years now. I absolutely love bringing my kids here. Julia is amazing with them! Julia actually takes the time to listen to any of your concerns during your appointments and is always very supportive no matter what decision you decide to make medically. Do the wait times take a bit longer sometimes? Yes they do, and I love that because I know I am at a practice where the patients are actually cared about so I never mind having to wait because I know when it’s our turn, we also will get that same level of care. A majority of other medical practices that you go to you are rushed in and out of the door and it seems like the doctors barely listen to a word you say so it is absolutely so refreshing to go to a practice like this. I definitely recommend this practice to people who are looking for someone that actually cares about your health!

I am beyond disappointed with the way my family was treated by Julia Gross’s office. We were loyal patients for many years, and I truly trusted this practice. That trust was recently shattered by 2 unacceptable and completely avoidable situations. The first concerns arose about a year ago following an interaction with Diane (the secretary) whose demeanor has been consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. While we initially tried to overlook this, the situation has since escalated. Recently, our son experienced a near-fatal medical emergency that required hospitalization at Albany Medical Center. Upon discharge, we were explicitly instructed to follow up with his primary care physician the following week. I called the office and left a voicemail but received no response. That evening, I sent a message through the patient portal. Diane eventually returned my call the next morning and informed me that Julia was unavailable for the entire following week. I explained the urgency of the situation and emphasized that it was important for our son—who has autism and struggles with unfamiliar providers—to see Julia, a physician he knows and trusts. Despite this, no accommodations were made, and we were required to see a nurse practitioner he had never met. During one of the most stressful moments our family has faced, we were met not with compassion, but with indifference and dismissal by Diane. The final incident was the most shocking of all. I made multiple attempts over a two-week period to contact Julia regarding a time-sensitive health waiver for my son. During that time, I left two voicemails, sent two portal messages, and sent two emails. I received no response whatsoever. Out of concern that my messages were not getting to her, I went to the office in person to request a brief conversation with Julia. I was told at the front desk that she would not speak with me without an appointment. I explained the circumstances and stated that I was willing to wait quietly until she had a moment (even if it took all day). Shortly thereafter, Diane approached me in the waiting room and stated that if I did not leave, they would call the Sheriff, “per Julia.” That response was unnecessarily escalated, hostile, and completely unprofessional given the circumstances and our long-standing relationship with the practice. As a result of these ongoing issues—particularly the complete breakdown in communication and the manner in which this situation was handled—we have made the decision to transfer our family’s care to another practice. I am unbelievably disappointed in the way this worked out..... I would strongly caution other families to think carefully before choosing this office.
