With profound certainty, I can say that my overall experience with Dr. Yang and the rest of the staff at NYGA was phenomenal. From the time that I checked in, the staff was accommodating, professional, genuinely caring and fast! The nurse who took my vitals and gave the prep needle for the anesthesiologist to use was exceptionally kind, reassuring, knowledgeable and patient…as this was my first colonoscopy. Her reassurance was appreciative. She even gave a fashionable salute to the socks I wore that had a picture of my wife and I. Once transported to the O/R, Dr. Yang was accommodating, thorough and reassuring as well. Her attention to detail was appreciative as was her light sense of humor. Along with Dr. Yang and the Pre Op nurse (who complimented my socks…sorry for not remembering your name), the Post Op nurse (Viera) who took care of me after the colonoscopy definitely gets a standing ovation! She was absolutely amazing! Her efficiency and bedside manner were second to none! If you are blessed enough to be serviced by her during your post op recovery as I was, you will understand EXACTLY what I mean!!! God bless you! Now the down side. The interaction with the male anesthesiologist provided the ONLY dull to my visit. His non-personable, introduction with his title only and not a name, matter fact attitude was unappreciative, non welcoming and a drastic contrast to the energy, personality and overall demeanor of everyone else there (that I encountered). Good at what he does, he MIGHT be…but a word of advice, working in the healthcare field you might provide anesthesia to 100 patients a day…but as a true professional, it is your responsibility and obligation to make EVERY PATIENT feel like they are the only one!! And you did not do that sir. Overall, I would highly recommend NYGA, and Dr. Yang!
