No one cares. Healthcare is supposed to be a profession of caring, yet I was left crying in severe pain with little attention or support. I arrived at the ER at 2:30 AM suffering from severe nerve pain caused by a herniated disc. I was placed in a room and waited a long time for medication, which unfortunately did not help. After that, no one came back to reassess me, check on my pain, or offer additional assistance. I was left struggling to figure out how to use the bed, how to get to the bathroom, and how to manage while in extreme pain. Nurses would walk by and tell me they would notify the doctor, but no one ever came. I felt invisible. What happened to patient care? What happened to dignity, compassion, and basic human concern? Patients are not room numbers or items on a checklist. They are people who are scared, suffering, and looking for help. The most upsetting part was that I eventually walked out of the hospital, and no one seemed to notice or care. That should concern every patient and every member of hospital leadership. I hope management reviews the events of that night, checks the cameras, and takes a hard look at how patients are being treated. No one seeking help should feel abandoned one of the most painful moments of their life! Your employees gained immunity to patients’ suffering and lost their humanity!
