On 2/24/25 my mother had an appointment with this so called medical doctor. My mother has a lot of trouble sleeping and she was there to receive her prescription for her sleeping pills, which are a controlled substance; therefore, can only be prescribed every month for 30 pills. He refused to prescribe her pills to help her sleep, because she had mentioned she drank some alcohol the night before. I explained to him (a doctor) that if she doesn’t sleep, she’s unable to function the next day. Instead he made this all about him and not his patient. I can go in about this fraud. Furthermore, he never ever gave her an alternative or any other medical option or advice. I asked him, “what was the purpose of making an appointment today, if you’re refusing to prescribe the pills she needs?” He never responded to my question, but insisted he would not give her the pills, because he’s putting himself at risk. I fail to understand how. He claims that it’s because she mixed the sleeping pills with alcohol. I explained it three times, that she did not have sleeping pills, hence the reason we were there in the first place. And, even if that were the case, he didn’t prescribe the alcohol nor does he have the control on what his clients do with the pills he prescribes. His excuse made no sense. I have feeling he felt emasculated upon being confronted. My mother continued to beg him for some type of pills to help her sleep. He refused and walked away, without a professional apology. He made this about him with no regard for his patient. She was so upset, that my 80 year old mother began to cry. I will be reporting him the NYSDH.
