I was on time for my appointment and checked in just to finally be acknowledged almost an hour and a half later and wasn't called until I said something, so why have receptionist work here with no basic communication skills just sit around to talk amongst themselves? Anything for a check I guess.

I didn’t really have any issues with Dr. Patel…until recently. In June, I went for a physical and when I got my results, it was determined I was not only pre-diabetic; but also had high cholesterol and high blood pressure. When I came to the office my pressure was 155/111, and no prescription was provided for my pressure. I was then referred to a hematologist for additional bloodwork and my pressure was still elevated, but this doctor wanted to help. He gave me a 90 day supply of a pill (I later found out was a water pill) until I saw Dr . Patel next. Fast forward to my follow up on 9/11, pressure is 144/108. Dr. Patel AGAIN was not going to give a prescription for a pressure pill. I had to ask. His reason: “Oh if I give you a pill you will be on it longterm”. I said to him that isn’t always true with proper weight management and diet changes , it is possible to get off the pill within a few months. There was a lot more but now that I am no longer a patient of his, I would advise people not to choose him as their PCP. He does not have good bedside manners, he gives you on average 5 minutes of his time, when there are about 2 patients in the office. This office is not busy, do not let the staff have you believe otherwise. He does not effectively communicate with his patients. If I have to ask my physician for a prescription for something that can potentially be life threatening, I can find a better doctor who is concerned about my well being. Any medicines I received were because I asked, not because he was going to prescribe them. Think about that. He had a hissy fit because I called his office about a script that HE told me would be ready the day it was put in. Instead of letting me know the several steps required, he dodged my calls when this whole debacle could’ve been avoided. Long story less long, he chose to cancel the order for my meds and told me to find a new PCP. Don’t threaten me with a good time! You’re just a mediocre neighborhood doctor who I never cared for, but it was conveniently near me. There was a reason I avoided you for the past four years and now I remember. Thank you!
