I contacted this therapist after experiencing problems with her website. The website was giving errors, the scheduling process was confusing, and it showed a Brooklyn address even though I was told in-person appointments were only conducted in Manhattan. After eventually making an appointment, I called simply to confirm that everything had been booked correctly. During the call, when I explained that I was having trouble with the website and wanted to verify my appointment details, I was told, "I'm not a technician." Later in the conversation, I was told, "I'm not your personal friend" and "I don't have time for this chit chat." I remained polite throughout the call and thanked her for her time, saying that she had saved us both time. While I was speaking, she hung up. This was my first interaction with this therapist, and I found the communication dismissive and unprofessional. As a result, I chose not to proceed with treatment.

My rating and opinion is solely based on my phone call conversation with Dr. Helen Schwartz because I never got a chance to have my appointment with her. Dr. Helen Schwartz was very rude and unprofessional over the phone. I made an appointment with her on 12/18/2025 for 6:15 pm. She called me on 12/18/2025 at 4:15 pm asking me if I could come in at 4:45 pm instead of my scheduled time. When I told her I could not come in early she yelled at me saying “Why can’t you come in early? I need you to be flexible and if you’re not I can’t see you.” After that she asked me how old I was I guess because I so sound young over the phone. When I answered her saying does that matter. She quickly hung up on me. Afterwards I received an email stating my appointment has been canceled. Honestly, a blessing in disguise. I am thankful I never saw her. I would not recommend her. I don’t know how she is still in practice with behavior like that.
