Dr. Sandhu and his team were attentive and caring both times I had fusion surgery. Wish he accepted Medicare! My hospital experiences were great too.

My wife and I had an awful experience with Dr. Sandhu. I can't speak to his surgical competence because we were so turned off by our initial consultation with him yesterday. He was abrasive, rude, and dismissive. My wife has been suffering with a disc herniation for the past six months and has been completely incapacitated and immobilized for the past week in excruciating pain. We've seen a few other spine surgeons but wanted to see Dr. Sandhu to get his assessment based on referrals from other docs and his reputation as co-chief of spine surgery at HSS. He told my wife that her pain was not consistent with a disc herniation, that it's her pain specialist doctor's (who is a fellow HSS colleague) responsibility to control her pain, that he couldn't do anything to help her, and if she's seen other surgeons who think they can help her, she should just go to them. It was a complete waste of our time seeing him.
