Harvey Moscot , O.D. P.C.

Been wearing glasses for most of my life, I have about 10 pairs. This is my first time in a Moscot and the experience was above average. - There is 2 parts to any eyewear, 1 being the frames, I am not super crazy on the frame styles that Moscot offers, there are 2 types I prefer, the curved frames that hug your face, and large lens frames, neither of which Moscot carries. I did however find a square frame that i kinda liked. - The 2nd part is the lens, specifically the tint, I am a big fan of color tints, and Moscot has a large selection of color tints and especially the blended lens configuration. Now the important part is the tint application, I have purchased many different lenses from different shops and the tint is a tricky application to apply, often the tint once on the frame does not reflect or look like the sample on the floor, but Moscot executed my blended blue -> yellow tint and nailed the color. - Since I am not super excited on the frames they carry, they will apply tints to any frames you bring in, so that is what I will do with all of my glasses that I want to tint up, so far, Moscot has been the best tint configurators that I have come across, my glasses came back precisely as the tint sample in the store that I sampled. - Almost forgot to mention, I have a heavy prescription so some places have a tough time creating the exact level of tint that the sample shows, but Moscot nailed it for me. - I posted a photo of my Blue Sunrise faded tint. I understand that store hours are store hours, and I was not expecting special treatment. My disappointment was not with the fact that the store closes at 6, but with the overall customer service I received. I had been seriously shopping for several Moscot frames and was prepared to buy multiple pairs. Since I live in New Jersey and cannot make weekends work, getting into the city during the week is already difficult with work, traffic, and parking. Earlier in the day, I called and was told the store would send me a few photos/options of frames I was considering, but I never received anything. Later, while I was on my way, I called again to explain that I would likely arrive very close to closing and asked whether, if parking delayed me by a few minutes, they could accommodate me briefly since I had already done my research and was ready to make a purchase. The response I received was, “Nope, we close at 6 on the dot,” in a tone that came across as dismissive and condescending. I completely respect store policies and closing times, but professionalism and courtesy matter. When a customer is making a real effort to come in and is prepared to buy on the spot, the way they are spoken to makes a difference. Unfortunately, between the lack of follow-through and the way the conversation was handled, I decided to take my business elsewhere.
