Hapworth Center Inc.

I was a patient for 5+ years. Out of no where his office stopped answering my calls when it was time to refill my medication. The voice-mail box filled up as well. Very unreliable.

After my last psychiatrist had a medical emergency, I was forced to consult with doctor Hapworth, with whom I had a genuinely terrible time. He was cold, distant, dismissive, and spoke in a bored monotone. He expressed doubt when I told him my meds and verified my prescriptions online, and stated that in his estimation of our thirty minute discussion I was not what I had been previously diagnosed (and was currently being medicated) as. He went on to tell me that the medications I'm taking - the result of years of trial and error - were incorrect and inadvisable, and expounded at length about the risks of the two meds I'm on (I knew, thanks); but he also wouldn't offer any alternatives, aside from quitting nicotine (wow, super insightful), until I started coming regularly to him for talk therapy (I already have a capable therapist, which you knew, doc, so hard pass). As much as I'd like to believe that, contrary to common sense, my recent nicotine addiction is the sole progenitor of problems I've had since childhood, I am disgusted and horrified by how unconcerned he was about the prospect of me returning to the miserable, unstable, suicidal state I was in whenever I've gone unmedicated or have changed medications. I pray that my old psychiatrist recovers, and will not return to Hapworth regardless.
